- Soldier Serhiy Androsov (call sign Bora) was killed on September 10, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Borshchova in the Kharkiv region. He was to turn 36 years old just 10 days later. Serhiy was born in Lviv. After finishing school, he went to work in a mine. He lived with his family in Novovolynsk. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, he signed a contract and became a military man in 2015. He served in border troops, airborne assault units, and reconnaissance. Whenever his contract was ending, he would sign another. This is how he found himself and his calling—to defend his family and Ukraine. In his free time, he enjoyed computer games, loved family vacations, and watching movies with his wife and children. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Serhiy served in the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. He was a senior scout in the reconnaissance platoon of the motorized infantry battalion. In July, soldier Serhiy Androsov was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. “Serhiy was brave and kind. He loved his family very much, was considerate, good, gentle, and intelligent. He signed his last contract before the full-scale war. He promised that it would be the last time, saying: ‘When the war is over, I will come home and never leave you again.' We lived together for 16 years, loved and cherished each other. We dreamed of having another child. We loved to vacation in the Carpathians. Serhiy promised that next time he would take us there in his own car, but he didn't live to see it. He 4 days before our wedding anniversary and 10 days before his birthday. He is forever 35. He was fair, always tried to get us the best, and worried that we had everything we needed. When I came home from work, he tried to make sure I could rest: he would cook dinner and help the children with their homework. When I was sick, he worried and was always by my side. He was brave and calm in the war. He made thoughtful decisions. He saved many lives of soldiers and civilians. He was and remained a beloved husband and a loving father,” said the wife of the fallen warrior. The defender was buried at the Alley of Glory in Novovolynsk. Serhiy is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
