- Soldier Taras Bartman (call sign Petrovich) was killed on May 27, 2024, during the evacuation of wounded comrades near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. He was 40 years old. Taras was born in the city of Chervonograd (now Sheptytskyi) in the Lviv region. He graduated from the Ternopil National Technical University named after Ivan Puluj, where he obtained a degree in electrical engineering. He worked as a salesman in a "Heating Systems" store. He loved to travel with his family, plant trees, collect mushrooms, and fish in his own pond. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the defenders and went to the front. He defended his country in the ranks of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Taras lived a short 40 years. He met his 40th year at war. We lived with him in marriage for 13 years. We raised two children: son Zakharchyk and daughter Solomiyka. Taras was fair, cheerful, kind, could defend his opinion, was the soul of the company, loved his country. He loved to read. His favorite books were "Athens" and "Twin Peaks". He loved to watch movies and TV shows. He loved to fish in the village pond, and his daughter Solomiyka learned this from him. He loved his village, the forest, nature, planting trees, and taught his son Zakharchyk this. Together with his family, he loved to travel and visit new places. He always told about the places he had been to before. The years lived in marriage were happy, incredible, and adventurous. He loved to make surprises and gifts. Taras loved his parents and took care of them. He was close and sincere with his sister Oksana. He had many plans and dreams that were cut short in an instant," his wife said. The paratrooper was buried on the Alley of Glory of the Bendyuzky cemetery in the Lviv region. Taras is survived by his parents Petro Yosypovych and Lyubov Mykhailivna, his wife Olha, son Zakhar, and daughter Solomiia. Posthumously, the defender was awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd degree. He was also posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Sheptytskyi".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
