- Soldier Valentyn Hlukhovskyi (call sign Picasso) was killed on September 1, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the village of Zaitseve in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 33 years old. Valentyn was born in the city of Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamyanske) in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He lived in Kamianets-Podilskyi in the Khmilnytskyi region since childhood. He stu at school No. 15. Then he obtained a higher education as an accountant. He stu accounting and auditing at the Podilskyi State Agrarian and Technical University. He found himself in the furniture business. With the beginning of the full-scale war, the man joined the army to protect the peaceful future of his family and country. He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He held the position of anti-aircraft gunner. "I remember that hot August day when Valentyn arrived at our unit. Focused, calm... He knew what he was dealing with and knew his job well. I don't remember the beginning of the day when the inevitable happened, but I clearly remember my feelings. Tears welled up in my eyes, and everyone around saw it. The guys who knew Picasso didn't believe what had happened. These are the best sons of their Motherland. Without sparing themselves, they stood there, in that landing, at the crossroads, so that their children could have a bright and peaceful life. I had the honor of serving with Picasso," the commander of the fallen said. "Everything he touched, he succeeded. He loved his country, his family. He fought for justice all his life. He could not submit to lies. This prompted him to stand up for Ukraine without hesitation. Immediately. Into the very hell. Even in war, he was always positive. The pain of the loss will not subside, it will not pass. We miss his unconditional love for life so much. The children miss their dad so much. We are proud. But it hurts no less. In our memory, he is the best dad, husband... From childhood, he was active and restless, wanted to learn everything, find out about everything. Everything new came to him with incredible ease. In student years, he was the one whom most followed. There was something in his character that attracted. After graduation, he decided not to work in his specialty. He said that sitting behind papers was not his calling. Later, he met and fell in love with his future wife for life. During the Revolution of Dignity, their eldest son was born. The man was eager to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But after my persuasion, he still remained with the family, although it was difficult for him. But with the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he could not remain on the sidelines. In the first days of the war, he went to the military enlistment office and from there immediately went to the Donetsk region. He had no military experience, but he had an irresistible desire to protect his country and his children. The sons are proud of their dad. It's a pity they can't tell him that anymore, can't hug him," the wife of the fallen Anastasia said. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory in Kamianets-Podilskyi. At home, Valentyn was waited for by his mother, wife, and two sons.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
