Vasyl A. Karmazyn

Soldier Vasyl Karmazin was killed on August 11, 2023 near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. During the performance of a combat mission, he came under enemy mortar fire. The defender was 51 years old. Vasyl was from the Lviv region. He studied at the Sasiv school. Then he graduated from the Zolochiv vocational school and obtained the qualification of a gas welder. He lived in the village of Bir, Lviv region. In 1992-2001 he worked at the bakery in the village of Sasiv. Then he was engaged in construction and repair work as a painter-plasterer, also laid tiles. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 14th Assault Brigade "Chervona Kalyna". He was a senior gunner of the mortar crew of the mortar platoon. "Vasyl was a very good person, kind, he never refused when asked for help, he always tried to help as much as he could. It so happened that in life we stuck together and supported each other, we were one puzzle. Vasyl was not afraid of death, he always told me: 'Everything will be fine, don't worry.' He always restrained his emotions, only during our last phone conversation he said: 'I love you, everything will be fine, I'll call in three days, wait.' How painful it is to wait... We will not forget and will not forgive. He is our Hero forever and ever," said Khrystyna Kryvutska, the deceased's niece. "My father and I were not destined to live together, but we always maintained communication, visited each other. Dad was always kind and attentive to me, he never refused any request. When he was defending our country, we always called each other via video. He was cheerful and didn't show that it was hard for him. He promised that everything would end, everything would be fine, he would return... It was very painful to receive the news of his death. We still had many plans for the future. But now he is my Hero forever, whom neither my heart nor my soul will forget..." said his daughter Vasylyna. The warrior was buried in the village of Sasiv in the Lviv region. At home, the daughter, sister, niece and granddaughter, relatives and friends were waiting for Vasyl. The hero was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
