In the battle with the occupiers, while saving his comrades-in-arms, he received fatal shrapnel wounds. The warrior was forever 50 years old. Vasyl was born in the village of Drohomyshyl, Lviv region. He lived in Lviv. He first studied at the Drohomyshyl General Secondary School named after Petro Vasylyha, then entered the Nahachiv General Secondary School. He received his higher education at the Faculty of History of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He served his military service in the border troops. For 30 years, he worked as a history teacher at the Domazhyr Secondary School in the Lviv region. He had an active civic position and was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity. From the first days of the full-scale war, the man voluntarily took up arms to defend his native country. At first, he was part of the 10th separate rifle battalion of the Territorial Defense Forces, and later he was transferred to the 116th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For personal bravery during the performance of combat missions, he was awarded the "Honor and Glory" distinction. "Vasyl was an incredible patriot of his Motherland. For almost 30 years, he taught the history of Ukraine, and during these years, he taught many students to be proud that we are Ukrainians! He went as a volunteer in the first days with the words: "Now the fate of Ukraine is being decided. If I don't stand up for its defense, I won't be able to teach history," his niece Halyna Volosko said. The defender was buried in the Marsovoye Field of the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.
