Vasyl Yu. Pykhtieiev (Vietka)

Born on December 8, 1983, in the village of Hryhorivka, Kominternivskyi (since 2016 - Lymanskyi) district of Odesa region. Lived in the city of Illichivsk (since 2016 - Chornomorsk) in Odesa region. In 2002, he graduated from secondary school No. 2 in the city of Illichivsk. From November 2003 to April 2005, he served in the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. He served in the 47th special forces regiment "Tiger" of the Crimean territorial command of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (military unit 4125, village of Krasnokamianka, Feodosia city council, Autonomous Republic of Crimea). On July 31, 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as the commander of a reconnaissance platoon in the 2nd mechanized battalion of the 28th separate guards mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0666 (field post V0095), urban-type settlement Chornomorske, Kominternivskyi (since 2016 - Lymanskyi) district of Odesa region). He participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Vetka". On June 3, 2015, Senior Sergeant Pyhtiev was killed by a sniper's bullet during a battle while repelling an attack by Russian armed formations on the city of Marinka, Donetsk region. Along with him, Senior Soldier Oleksandr Halushchynskyi and Junior Sergeant Vasyl Pysarenko were killed. On June 7, 2015, he was buried in the city cemetery of Illichivsk (now Chornomorsk) in Odesa region.
