- 47-year-old senior sergeant Viacheslav Zub was killed on June 21, 2023 near the village of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. Viacheslav was born in the village of Kurin in the Chernihiv region. He lived in the village of Ivanivka in Volyn. His soul was drawn to military service, so this profession is what he chose for himself in the future. He started his service in Cherkasy, where he earned the rank of senior sergeant. Then he went to study at the Training and Research Center "Desna", where he received the coveted rank of warrant officer. After the service, he worked for several years in the city of Volodymyr-Volynskyi. He was a tractor-combine operator, electrician, and welder. He loved agricultural machinery. He was always busy with rural work and household chores. During the full-scale invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend his native country. He served in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was the commander of a section - the commander of a vehicle of the 107th Battalion. "I am very proud of my dad, his decision to go to defend the state and what he has done for us. He was a good master, father and husband. He was always happy to come to the rescue. He never remained aloof from the problems of his relatives, supported and gave advice. On February 24, 2022, a war began on the territory of our country. In despair and fury, dad spent the whole day. The next morning, he made a very important decision for himself and his family - to voluntarily go to defend his state. Due to his health condition, they did not want to take him into the army, but he insisted on his own, said that he would not return home. Because of his ardent desire and determination, he was nevertheless taken. On February 26, he was enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Over the course of his life, he traveled around Ukraine many times, but during the war these travels became more frequent. He began his military training on the border with Belarus, where he underwent training and practice. Having gained experience and repaired the equipment, he was sent to Mykolaiv, where he stayed for quite a long time. The next task was the liberation of Kherson, and later - the move to Bakhmut, where dad was wounded in the forearm. After rehabilitation, he moved to Lyman, where he saw the horrific consequences of the war, the real hell. Many losses, despair and tears made him stronger to avenge his comrades, because they were like family to him. He felt a great responsibility for those who stood shoulder to shoulder with him. Being a commander, he took on a great responsibility and always went first to protect the lives of his still young comrades-in-arms," the fallen warrior's daughter said. The defender was buried in the village of Horishne in Volyn. He left behind his parents, his wife Nelya, son Oleksandr and daughter Maryana.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
