- Sergeant Viktor Osovnik (call sign Vedmid) died on July 16, 2022, in a hospital in Dnipro from injuries. Four days before that, he received a severe neck wound near the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region, returning from a combat mission. Having walked almost 3 kilometers, he lost a lot of blood. On the way to the hospital, he fell into a coma. In June, the warrior turned 45 years old. Viktor was born in the village of Ivankov, Chernihiv region. After finishing school, he was accepted as a member of the collective farm named after T. Shevchenko in the village of Krysky. In 1995, he served in the army. From 1998, he lived in the village of Korop, Chernihiv region. He began his career as a security guard in the corporation "Prooun". In 2001-2008, he worked as an electrician of linear structures at the center of electrical communication of JSC "Ukrtelecom". In 2008, he began to engage in blacksmithing at LLC "Gazbudservis". From 2011, he worked in Kyiv region as a stonemason and roofer. His team built houses in Vyshhorod, Hostomel, Irpin, Vasylkiv, and Bucha. From the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Viktor joined the ranks of the TRO. In early April, he volunteered to join the territorial recruitment center, served in the guard company. The following month, he was sent to Donetsk region. There, he joined the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky, took the position of sanitary instructor. He participated in battles for Pokrovsk, Bakhmut, and Lysychansk. "Viktor was a great person, and also very kind. He was calm, balanced, and always smiling. Friends and comrades said that he was a great guy, real, and in military affairs was clever and very educated. Viktor always shared, helped, and advised. He loved life, nature, fishing, and hunting. We often traveled with him, next to him I felt calm and confident, and most importantly - we loved each other very much," said the wife of the deceased Natalia Vanikhina. The defender was buried at the Mikhailovsky cemetery in the village of Korop, Chernihiv region. Viktor left behind his mother, wife, two children from his first marriage: son Ilya and daughter Sofia.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
