Viktor V. Chornobai

Born on July 20, 1983, in the city of Kreminna, Luhansk region. Graduated from a general education school. In February 2017, he was called up for military service under contract to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a driver in the 1st mechanized battalion of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade of the Operational Command "East" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0501, village of Kluhyno-Bashkyrivka, Chuhuiv City Council, Kharkiv region). From spring-summer 2017, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On July 20, 2017, around 05:00, soldier Viktor Chornobai was killed during combat operations at the platoon stronghold 9203 near the city of Krasnohorivka in the Marinka district of Donetsk region, repelling an attack by an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group that operated under the cover of heavy fire from mortars, artillery, tanks, and Grad-P ("Partisan") rocket systems from the occupied urban-type settlement of Staromykhailivka in the Marinka district. Along with him, soldier Oleg Havria and senior soldier Oleksandr Sen were also killed. On July 22, 2017, he was buried at the Central Cemetery in the city of Kreminna, Luhansk region.
