Viktor Yu. Mytrofanov (dArtanian)

Soldier Viktor Mitrofanov (call sign d'Artagnan) was killed on August 1, 2023, in the area of the village of Serebryanka in the Donetsk region. During combat operations in the Serebryanka forestry, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of a mine explosion. He would have turned 34 years old in three days. Viktor was born in the city of Kitsman, Chernivtsi region. He lived in the village of Shypyntsi, Chernivtsi region. He graduated from the Chernivtsi Vocational College, obtaining the profession of automotive mechanic. Later, he acquired the qualification of a welder, which he worked at all his life. Working with metal always brought him satisfaction. In 2014-2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. He fought as part of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He was an artilleryman. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man again went to defend his country from the enemy. He became a fighter of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the last weeks before his death, he served in the 108th Battalion. He was a mortar man. Throughout his service, the soldier was awarded the distinctions "For the Defense of the Luhansk Airport", "Participant in Combat Operations", "Defender of the Fatherland", and posthumously - the Order of Courage of the III degree. "My husband always took responsibility for his family and his country. He had no doubts about fulfilling his military duty to protect the state from the enemy, even despite health problems after being wounded in 2014 (a multitude of shrapnel in his body that interfered with a full life). Wise, cheerful, hardworking, loved by all. He did good for all the needy. He went through a difficult childhood (lost his father in his teens), had the respect of people. He said: good begets good. And he tried to follow this rule. He always kept his promises. Even the last one - he promised to be home on his birthday, August 4. He was killed on August 1, and on his birthday the body of the man was at home... He is now always 33, he was killed at the age of Christ - the theme of spirituality and Jesus was always close to the man. Vitka believed that at the age of 33 a person reaches their maximum spirituality. And I am convinced that the man achieved it," said Diana Mitrofanova. The hero was buried in the village of Shypyntsi, Chernivtsi region. At home, Viktor was awaited by his mother, wife, daughter and grandfather.
