- Born on April 7, 1981, in the city of Lutsk, Volyn region. Graduated from the 9th grade of general education school No. 17 in Lutsk, then with honors from Vocational Technical School No. 6 in Lutsk (now Volyn College of the National University of Food Technologies). Served mandatory military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In April 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 51st Separate Guards Perekop-Kharkiv Prague-Volyn Order of Lenin, twice Order of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov and Kutuzov Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2331, city of Volodymyr-Volynskyi, Volyn region). Since the spring of 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine. On May 22, 2014, soldier Makhnovets was killed during an armed attack by a Russian-terrorist group on a checkpoint of Ukrainian troops near the station of Velyko-Anadol, close to the urban-type settlement of Olhynka in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region. On May 27, 2014, he was buried in the Alley of Honor at the city cemetery in the village of Harazhdzha, Lutsk district, Volyn region. On November 20, 2015, a memorial plaque was installed in the city of Lutsk on the facade of general education school No. 17 (Shchusieva Street, 7), where Vitaliy Makhnovets studied. On December 17, 2015, a memorial plaque was installed in the city of Lutsk on the building (Sahaydachnoho Street, 20), where Vitaliy Makhnovets lived.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
