Vitalii V. Truba (Papai)

44-year-old senior soldier Vitaliy Truba (call sign Papay) was killed on February 20, 2023 near the village of Dubovo-Vasylivka in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he suffered fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery shelling. Vitaliy was born and lived in Kyiv. He studied at secondary school No. 240. Later he obtained the profession of a ship's cook at the Kyiv Vocational School of River Transport No. 32. He worked in various companies: "Takt" (security guard), "Internet-Media" (courier), PJSC "Volya-Cable", LLC "Provaid" (technician), LLC "NVP DZBK" (engineer). Since August 2019, he was a courier for the Kyiv Directorate of JSC "Ukrposhta". Everywhere, he proved himself to be a hardworking, responsible and punctual employee, always open to development, acquiring new skills and knowledge. He particularly valued friendship, was a faithful and reliable comrade, extraordinarily sincere and positive, his humor and kind words were always appreciated by his friends. The man's main hobbies were fishing and motorcycle technology. He loved to travel, ski, cook, spend time with his son and wife, family and friends. He dreamed of planting and growing a walnut orchard and a vineyard, having his own motorboat, and building a sauna. During the full-scale invasion, Vitaliy fought for his country in the ranks of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a mortar squad member. "Vitaliy is a faithful comrade, a sincere friend, a caring son, a reliable, wise, kind, loving husband and father. He cared about raising our son Yevhen to be a worthy and true citizen of Ukraine, provided him with the best education, always passed on his experience and skills, instilled the best of his qualities - justice, purposefulness, balance and responsibility. I thank you, my dear, for your warmth and tenderness, understanding and support. Thank you for loving me all these years and making me happy, for protecting and defending us. We will fulfill all your instructions and realize our common plans and dreams. From the beginning of the war until his last breath, Vitaliy was faithful to his military oath, his vocation, his Motherland and the entire Ukrainian people," shared the widow of the fallen Antonina. The warrior was buried in the village of Rozhivka in the Kyiv region. Vitaliy is survived by his father, wife, son, sister, brother, and other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
