- 27-year-old Captain Vladyslav Honcharuk (call sign "Demon) was wounded on October 16, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. He fought for his life for two weeks, but on October 31, the defender was killed. Vladyslav was born in the village of Lishchynivka, Cherkasy region. He studied at the local school. After completing the 9th grade, he entered the Monastyryshche Vocational Lyceum, where he obtained the profession of a welder. In 2013, he went on conscript service. In 2019, he graduated from the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University. After graduation, he went to perform combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. During the full-scale war, he continued to defend Ukraine in the Donbas. He commanded the anti-aircraft missile battery of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He was wounded twice. After the first wound near Volnovakha, he was promoted to the rank of captain. "You were always my support. Despite the fact that you are my younger brother, you have always been the strongest and bravest. You are a Hero! You have always been one and will remain one forever. I love you so much, my dear! My mind knows, but my heart does not accept, does not believe... I cannot accept this reality. I cannot and do not want to... Brother, you are a human holiday! Always cheerful, even despite the terrible reality. You never said how hard it was for you. You always encouraged us! 'Mom, everything will be fine.' 'Sister, I'm ready to do anything for you, just say the word'... My heart is breaking into a million pieces... Everything inside is boiling... How I miss you!" - wrote his older sister Bohdana. "He was very cheerful and full of life. He stood up for his guys. He loved his family very much. He had many friends. Every evening he would call at least for a minute to calm my anxious mother's heart," his mother Yevheniia said. "You were our protector on earth, now you have become a heavenly guardian angel. It is very difficult for us to accept this, but this is the reality... We have always been proud of you and rejoiced in your successes. You really wanted to be a captain, and you became one. Unfortunately, you did not wear this rank for long... Son, dear, you will always be with us in our hearts and thoughts," said the defender's father Ihor. The officer was buried in his native village in the Cherkasy region. Vladyslav is survived by his parents, sister, and brother.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
