- Senior Lieutenant Vladyslav Martyniuk (call sign Achilles) was killed on October 13, 2022 near the village of Torske in the Donetsk region while performing a combat mission. The car in which the warrior was traveling was blown up by an enemy mine. A week before this, the defender turned 24 years old. Vladyslav was born in the city of Novomoskovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming a marine. Therefore, he entered the Military Academy of Odesa, which he graduated from with honors and a gold medal. After graduation, the young officer served in the 140th separate reconnaissance battalion of the Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was an instructor in airborne training and deputy company commander. Since August 2021, he has been in the ATO zone. He made over 40 parachute jumps. For exemplary service, he was awarded certificates and medals. Since February 24, 2022, he has been on the front line in the Donetsk region. "For me, Vladyslav was a kindred spirit, a beloved person. We were making joint plans for the future. We dreamed of a family and travels. A patriotic person who fought for honesty, justice and freedom. He was my support and the whole world that collapsed when he was gone. Vladyslav was brave, courageous, cheerful, life-loving, purposeful and balanced. He never complained. He had authority among his comrades and friends, loved and knew how to joke. He was a true professional military, a combat officer, perfectly versed in everything related to the army and war. He had a good heart. He was a support and support for his mother. People were drawn to him. He always came to help. He had many plans that, unfortunately, he did not have time to implement. He gave his life so that we could live in a free and independent Ukraine," said the warrior's beloved Lilia. The hero was buried in the village of Vilne, Dnipropetrovsk region. Vladyslav is survived by his mother, sister and beloved girlfriend. Posthumously, Senior Lieutenant Vladyslav Martyniuk was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
