- 44-year-old Sergeant Vladislav Shubin was killed in action on February 28, 2022, during the defense of Kharkiv region. Vladislav was born in Kharkiv city. He graduated from Kharkiv Automobile Transport College and received a qualification as a technician-mechanic. During his studies, he drew up plans for senior students because "he was very good at it." He had many jobs: he was a loader, a long-distance driver, the director of the Kupyansk feed mill, and a track installer in the Kharkiv metro. Before the war started in 2014, he had worked as a machinist for cutting machines for over 10 years. He loved sports very much, played table tennis well, and taught his daughter to play. In 2015, Vladislav volunteered for the ATO zone. He went straight from work to the military enlistment office and called his family two days later: "I'm in Mykolaiv for training, send me my things, I'm going to ATO." Later, as part of the marine corps, he carried out combat missions near Mariupol in Donetsk region. Since then, his life has been connected with military affairs. After the ATO, he understood that military affairs would not let him go, so he joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He had many friends and a great sense of humor. In the evening of February 23, 2022, upon returning home from work, Vladislav told his family to come up with emergency suitcases and be ready, he gave instructions on what to do when various types of weapons are flying. On February 24, at 5:20, his phone rang, and a minute later, the first explosions were heard, and the man went to war again. "My father was a really cool man, he always supported me and took care of me, he was very caring and cheerful, always had many friends, and stood up for those who were dear to him. I loved him very much, I'm sorry I didn't talk about it enough. One of his last messages was: 'The main thing is never to panic, we'll manage, we're on our own land, in our own home,'" his daughter Alice said. The defender was buried in his native Kharkiv region. Vladislav was survived by his mother and daughter. Posthumously, Sergeant Vladislav Shubin was awarded the Order of "Courage" III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
