Volodymyr A. Bosyk

Junior Sergeant Volodymyr Bosyk was killed on January 17, 2024 near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. During the performance of a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries. A month later, on February 11, the defender would have turned 48 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Novaky in the Rivne region. He grew up in a family with 6 children. His mother was killed early, so his father was responsible for raising the children. Volodymyr studied at the Novaky and Ozersk schools. He then obtained the profession of an electric gas welder at the Rivne Textile Technical School. In civilian life, he worked in construction. In his free time, he liked to go fishing. In April 2023, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After training, he went to defend the Zaporizhzhia direction. He held the position of senior sapper in the 117th separate mechanized brigade. "Heroes go to live in the memory of people, in their hearts. And his feat is difficult to assess, he gave the most precious - his life! He fought for the peaceful sky, for freedom, for sons and fathers, for his home, for the honor of his family and did not want to die at all... Eternal Honor, Honor and Glory to the Heroes! For the sake of living, they sacrifice their lives. From the Heavens they are already watching over us, unfortunately, there is no return from there. But they shine like stars for all of us, illuminating the way to our better future, having done everything possible so that there would be LIFE at all! He took a very heavy burden on his back, fulfilled his duty completely. He put his part into the Victory. Cursed be the aggressive war! Glory to our Hero! Eternal memory to him!" - wrote the wife of his brother Iryna. The defender was buried in his native village. Volodymyr is survived by his father, brothers, sisters and two sons.
