- Soldier Volodymyr Martynyuk (call sign Mazhor) was killed on January 3, 2023 near the city of Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region. While performing his official duties, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of enemy shelling from "Grads". The warrior was 25 years old. Volodymyr was from the city of Tokmak in the Zaporizhzhia region. He studied to be a welder at a local vocational school. He was passionate about cars and music. Since 2020, he had been serving in the military under a contract. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought for his Homeland as part of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the mortar battery of the 37th Battalion. For his service, he was awarded the "Cossack Cross" decoration of the III degree. "My hero bravely defended our state until his last days. He was an incredibly bright, sincere and kind person, always smiling, with a sense of humor and positivity. Very hardworking and skilled. He loved life and people, always helped everyone, from stray animals and strangers to his closest relatives, friends, and comrades. He was a real and strong man, and at the same time tender, loving, and caring. We were married for only 4 months when our happiness was cut short. Vova loved children very much and dreamed of having his own, but unfortunately we didn't have time. I'm sure everyone remembers him as a person-holiday, who brought goodness and smiles to this world," said the wife of the fallen Anastasia. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Kushuhum cemetery near Zaporizhzhia. Volodymyr is survived by his mother, wife, and older brother.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
