Volodymyr M. Hizimchuk (Hektor)

Volodymyr Mykolayovych Hizimchuk was born on August 9, 1992, in the village of Kamyanka, Slavuta district, Khmelnytskyi region. He studied at the Tsvitoske educational institution, which he graduated from in 2009. He continued his education at the Rivne School of Police, and then served in the Ukrainian Navy (Sevastopol), followed by contract service in military unit A1358 (village of Tsvitokha). From 2014 to 2015, he was in the ATO zone. It was there that the brave young man ultimately decided to dedicate his life to military service, and in 2017 he enrolled in the Odesa Military Academy. After graduating in 2021, he was assigned to serve in the city of Skadovsk, Kherson region. From the autumn of 2021, he was in the ATO zone, and with the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, he continued to defend Ukraine. He was killed on March 9, 2022, in battles against the aggressor near the village of Zachativka in Donetsk region. The hero was buried on April 6, 2024. He is survived by his parents and brother.
