Volodymyr O. Bessonov (Bies)

Sergeant Volodymyr Bessonov (call sign Bes) was killed on April 26, 2024 in combat with the enemy near the settlement of Keramik in the Donetsk region. Four days before this, the warrior turned 38 years old. Volodymyr was a native of Volyn. He lived in the city of Lutsk. In 2003-2004, he studied at the Volyn Professional College, obtaining the specialty of an electromechanic for the maintenance and repair of computing machines. He worked as a metal painter. Since 2014, he has been participating in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) / Joint Forces Operation (JFO). During the full-scale war, the man served in the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a machine gunner. Later, he was seconded to the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade and sent to the Donetsk region, where he was killed. During his service, the defender was repeatedly honored, in particular with the medal for participation in the battles of the "Bakhmut Frontier", the award of the commander of the operational-tactical group "Lyman", the medal "Badge of Valor", the award "For Exemplary Military Service" of the III degree, the honorary award "For the Defense of the City of Bakhmut". "It is happiness to have such a man as Vova, but we had too little time to be together, although even an eternity would be little next to such a bright person," said his wife Anastasia. Volodymyr was buried in the village of Velykyi Omelianyk in Volyn. The defender is survived by his grandmother, mother, wife and daughter.
