- Sergeant Volodymyr Soiko died on May 7, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Novooleksandrivka in the Donetsk region as a result of the enemy's UAV strike. The defender was 30 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Hrymailiv in the Lviv region. He lived in Lviv. He studied at the Lviv Polytechnic National University, which he did not have time to finish, as in 2015 he took a leave of absence and voluntarily went to defend Ukraine. Later, he resumed his studies, but the full-scale invasion began. In his youth, he was engaged in ballroom dancing. He loved hiking in the mountains. He was passionate about running and participated in half-marathons, dreaming of a marathon. In peaceful life, he worked as a technical support agent in foreign companies, and in recent years, he was an employee of the Wix company. Volodymyr's path as a warrior began in 2015, when he joined the military law enforcement unit. During the full-scale war, he defended the country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Recently, he held the position of commander of the mortar platoon of the fire support company of the 110th separate mechanized brigade. "I remember that on February 24, 2022, Volodymyr and I were looking for open optics to get him lenses for the first time. He didn't like to talk much, but he was faithful to his principles. Even on that day, he understood that he would be mobilized, and he did it in the first days of March. He loved this life very much and knew how to enjoy every little thing. He was the most caring lover, dreaming of his own house, children, and a dog. It is difficult to find a photo where his smile is not present. This is how he remained in the memories of everyone: cheerful, sincere, and genuine," says the civilian wife of the fallen Olha. The warrior was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. Volodymyr is survived by his parents, two brothers, and his civilian wife.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
