Volodymyr S. Koliada (Shchedryk)

Soldier Volodymyr Koliada (call sign Shchedryk) was killed on July 3, 2023, during an assault in the area of the village of Orikho-Vasylivka in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 38 years old. Volodymyr was born and lived in Zhovti Vody, Dnipropetrovsk region. He studied at the Kryvyi Rih Aviation College of the National Aviation University. He worked as an underground electric locomotive driver at a mine, in the security of "SkhidGZK", and his last job was at LLC "COMFY". He read a lot and was able to support various topics during a conversation. Since school, he has played volleyball professionally and has won prizes in competitions. His greatest passion was football. The man knew the history of Ukrainian and world football, and could accurately state who played in which year, who won which championship and with what score. He supported FC "Dynamo" (Kyiv) and the Ukrainian national team. His favorite footballer was Andriy Shevchenko. With his colleagues, they played futsal when they had free time. He was knowledgeable about computer technology. He adored computer games and could service and configure PCs. The man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in March 2023. He served in the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. He held the position of rifleman - grenade launcher assistant. "My Vovchyk was my universe for 18 years. We were together in sorrow and joy, in health and illness, in wealth and poverty. He was my wings, my motivation, my love. I don't know a braver, more honest, more loyal and kinder person than him. He was the best person I knew. He was extremely erudite. We strongly believed in Ukraine's victory. On March 28, 2023, he was mobilized, and he bravely went with the words that he was going to defend his family. With Vova, we lost our father and my beloved. Now nothing and no one can replace him. Only memories of how happy I was with him, dreams of how we would raise our little princess. Unspeakable pain from the loss, sadness, emptiness. There are no more my wings," shared the wife of the fallen Oleksandra Volkova. The defender was buried in his hometown. At home, Volodymyr was awaited by his mother, sister, wife and daughter, who was 3 years old at the time of his death.
