- 27-year-old Junior Sergeant Volodymyr Makhnorilo (call sign Kipish) died on December 27, 2022 in a hospital in Dnipro. Three days earlier, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Stupochky in the Donetsk region, the soldier sustained serious injuries. Volodymyr was born in the village of Kamiane, Zaporizhzhia region. He studied to become a tractor mechanic at the Vilniansk Vocational Lyceum. He did not finish his studies, as he started working at the age of 16 to help his family. In his free time, he loved playing the guitar. Since 2015, the young man has been participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war. He fought in the ATO/OOS as part of the 128th Mountain Assault, 55th Artillery, 25th Airborne and 54th Mechanized Brigades. He planned to obtain a military education, but did not have the chance. During the full-scale invasion, Volodymyr held the position of commander of the gun platoon of the self-propelled howitzer artillery of the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2022, the soldier was awarded the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine". "My brother is a true Hero who has done a lot for our freedom. A true patriot, a Cossack, for whom the country was above all else. Courageous, fearless (he saved more than one life on the battlefield, but did not save his own), a man with a capital letter. He was ready to give his last to do good for others. We learn about his heroic deeds in the war only after his death, because he always told us that everything was fine. Very kind, sensitive, always smiling... A true Hero-Makhno!" said his older sister Olena. "My brother and I have been doing everything together since childhood. We were and remained close for life. That's why it's very hard for me. My brother is half of my soul. All our relatives are also very hard to cope with the loss, because we are all like one big family, and we have always gone through life together. Volodymyr protected, helped and supported everyone," added his younger sister Kateryna. The defender was buried in his native village. Volodymyr is survived by his parents, four sisters, six nieces and nephews, relatives, loved ones and friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
