- Soldier Yaroslav Mayboroda (call sign Baghdad) was killed in the area of the village of Vremivka in Donetsk region on August 23, 2022. He signed a report to participate in the unblocking of Mariupol. The military tried to break through by land to the Russian-occupied part of Donetsk region. But during rotation, Yaroslav stepped on a mine. In two months, the defender would have turned 22 years old. Yaroslav was born in the city of Bila Tserkva in Kyiv region. He graduated from the "First Bila Tserkva Gymnasium" lyceum. He was a creative person, performed songs and wrote music himself. From the age of 15, he played in various rock bands: "Second Wave", "Walkdown", "High Five". He performed in Bila Tserkva, and later in Kyiv. He was fascinated by the creativity of Kurt Cobain. He loved to sing the song "8 Color" by the band "Motorolla" and "Choven" to the words of Ivan Franko. Still in school, Yaroslav was interested in chemistry. He scored 198 points on the ZNO in this subject and easily entered the chemical faculty of Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko. He was especially fond of organic chemistry. Already from the first year, in parallel with his studies, he worked in the laboratory of the company "Enamin". He independently completed IT courses and received additional income. In the third year, he decided to take an academic leave at the university in order to fully devote himself to work. In January 2022, he returned to the third year of his bachelor's degree. But, unfortunately, he was unable to complete his studies due to the full-scale war. From the first days of the Russian invasion, Yaroslav helped with the territorial defense of Kyiv. And on April 12 at 7:00, he wrote to his mother that he was going to go to Zaporizhzhia to join the "Azov" regiment. He was officially enlisted in the unit on May 1. To all his mother's persuasions to stay, Yaroslav had one answer: "Mom, did you see what's going on in Mariupol? I have to go, save. If not me, then who?" "What was Yaroslav like? For me, he was the best! A loving and caring son, a true friend, and a devoted warrior of the Fatherland. Very brave, purposeful, a great optimist, and an extremely talented young man," says the warrior's mother, Zinaida Mayboroda. On August 27, Yaroslav was buried on the Alley of Glory in his native Bila Tserkva. He left behind his mother. For his courage and bravery, Yaroslav was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree. The young man was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Bila Tserkva City Territorial Community".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
