- Volunteer Yaroslav Patsiuk was killed in action on March 19, 2022, in a battle with Russian occupiers for his native Chernihiv region. The defender was 30 years old. Yaroslav was born in the village of Chornotychi, Chernihiv region. He graduated from the Sosnytskyi Agricultural College of Accounting and the Kyiv National University of Biotechnology and Nature Management. He served in the military and then decided to link his life with the army. He went to the State Border Service of Ukraine. He served in the Kramatorsk border detachment and later in the Dobryanka border service department. He participated in the ATO. After demobilization, he worked in the Czech Republic. However, he decided that it was best at home, so he returned to Ukraine. He got a job in the security service in Kyiv. His last place of work was in Konotop. He was dating a girl and planned to get married. On the first day of the large-scale war, on February 24, 2022, Yaroslav went to the military commissariat. He was immediately sent to Chernihiv, to the local TRO, he did not even have time to gather his belongings. From there, the man returned home already on a shield. "Those damn Russians took away our common future. Yarik always smiled, I don't know anyone so life-affirming. Hardworking, helped his parents, took care of his mother. Never refused anyone and supported friends. Had dreams and confidently walked towards them. He also had golden hands, it seems he could do everything. He had skills in working with any equipment. He could drive a BTR. People like him should live and live. He went through the ATO. His friend, who has been serving since 2014, said: what Yarik went through and saw - it's hell. But Yaroslav himself never told about those events. And every day from February 24, being on the positions, he answered: "Everything is fine, we are destroying them." He believed in himself and gave faith to others in our army. He reassured and protected, but did not save himself... He is our Hero. He took up arms because he couldn't do otherwise. He - our defender. Forever in the hearts of people who knew him. I can't imagine what strength of spirit is needed to feel, to rush home, gather belongings, run to the military commissariat, defend again... For the sake of Ukraine, for the sake of loved ones, for the sake of the lives of others. Our Hero," said Oksana, the deceased's fiancée. Yaroslav was buried in his native village in the Chernihiv region. The man left behind his parents, brother, and fiancée.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
