Biography
Petrash Yevhen Viacheslavovych was born in Sumy. At the age of 10, he moved with his family to Kyiv. He studied at school No. 63. Then he entered the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". Interrupting his studies at the university, in May 2015 he joined the Azov battalion. He participated in combat operations in eastern Ukraine (in the Mariupol direction and in the Marinka area). In 2018, he returned to Kyiv and continued his studies in the correspondence form. He got a job at the "EVO" company, where he was engaged in the development of business projects. After the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, as a military reservist of the 1st operational reserve, he arrived at the location of the Azov regiment of the Kyiv territorial defense. On March 3, 2022, as part of a reconnaissance group near Vorzel, he had the task of detecting the enemy's forward edge and consolidating his position. However, the enemy was already breaking through to Bucha. The group received an order to delay the enemy forces so that the defense line could be consolidated. During a battle that lasted more than 12 hours, Yevhen's group began to be surrounded. Yevhen Petrash was able to pull a wounded comrade-in-arms from under heavy fire, who, along with other soldiers, managed to evacuate to the rear, but he himself suffered a severe injury from a mine. Remaining in position, he held the perimeter and covered the retreat of his comrades. He heroically died, fulfilling his duty. Yevhen Petrash was buried at the Lukyanivske Military Cemetery in Kyiv.Military service
