Yevhenii V. Kopotun

Kopytun Yevhen Volodymyrovych was born on May 18, 1995 in Kyiv. From childhood, he lived in Crimea, where he received secondary education. In 2010, he graduated from the Kyiv Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun. In 2013, he entered the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of the Air Force of Ukraine. After graduating from the university in 2017, he served in the 16th Separate Assault Aviation Brigade in Brody, Lviv region. He was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and the Joint Forces Operation (JFO), as well as the peacekeeping mission in Congo. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Yevhen and his crew have carried out 100 combat sorties, destroying a large number of enemy personnel and equipment. On March 16, 2022, he was awarded the Order of Danylo Halytsky. He was killed on July 13, 2022 in the Donetsk region. He was buried in Brody, Lviv region. Yevhen left behind a wife and a 2-year-old daughter. For personal courage and selfless actions, displayed in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, Yevhen Volodymyrovych Kopytun was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree.
