- 27-year-old junior sergeant Yuriy Pyvovarov (call sign Bers) died on August 31, 2024 during the performance of a combat mission near the village of Sheptuhivka in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation from the shock wave after being hit by an enemy guided air bomb. Yuriy was born in the city of Okhtyrka, Sumy region. He lived in the Donetsk region for some time. He always joked that he was from the Donetsk-Sumy region. In 2014, he was forced to move from Horlivka to the city of Romny, where he continued to live. In 2017, he graduated from the Romny Professional College of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman with a degree in "Chemical technologies of refractory non-metallic and silicate materials". He loved history, studied cryptocurrency, and dreamed of living and working from home after leaving the army. After studying at the college, he joined the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps "Right Sector" and immediately went to the front as a volunteer. In 2018, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, served in the ranks of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo Halytsky. In 2022, after the end of the contract, he worked in construction in Kyiv. On the second day of the full-scale invasion, on February 25, 2022, Yuriy registered at one of the military registration and enlistment offices in the Solomianskyi district of the capital. For the first 3 months he served in the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, and later was transferred to the 132nd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of squad commander of the fire support company. During his service, the soldier was awarded the MOU "Knight's Cross" badge, the "Golden Cross" badge from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Order of Courage of the III degree (posthumously). "Yura is my personal universe that Russia destroyed... The only thing we dreamed of was to live together, build a house and just be happy. My husband, despite his age, saw and knew so much that sometimes people in their 50s did not live through. So smart, so kind. He always helped everyone, expecting nothing in return. He served and volunteered, skillfully handled weapons and dreamed of resting at home. There are not enough words that exist to describe what a wonderful person he was. And now he is gone, he remains only in memory. And I can only continue to exist in my destroyed universe. I still can't believe I'll never hug him again..." - shared his wife. The hero was buried at the Zasulskyi cemetery in Romny. Yuriy is survived by his wife Viktoriia, mother Viktoriia, and father Andrii.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
