- Paratrooper Yuriy Trubiy was killed on March 28, 2022, as a result of enemy shelling during the clearing of the village of Kamyanka in the Kharkiv region. On April 19, the defender would have turned 22 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Vrublivka, Zhytomyr region. In 2004, when he was 4 years old, he moved with his family to the village of Romaniv. In 2019, he graduated from the Zhytomyr Technological College with a degree in "Wood Processing". He loved to make wooden products. He was fond of sports, particularly exercises on the bar. For some time, he worked at various private firms producing wooden furniture in Zhytomyr. In 2020, the young man decided to join the army and signed a contract with the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a grenadier. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Yuriy fought on the hottest fronts, holding back the occupiers. On March 8, 2022, his younger brother, 18-year-old Pavlo, who at the time was a cadet at a military university, but took part in the defense of the Kyiv region, was killed. "My son will forever remain in the memory of his relatives and friends as cheerful, kind, sincere and decent. He was always in a hurry to help and could give away the last thing he had if it was needed," said Lyudmyla Nikolaychenko. For a long time, the hero was considered missing. Initially, he was buried at the Krasnopilsky cemetery in Dnipro as an unknown defender. After DNA analysis, he was reburied in the village of Romaniv, Zhytomyr region. The soldier is survived by his mother, older brother, and three younger sisters. Posthumously, soldier Yuriy Trubiy was awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
