- Born on March 18, 1964, in the city of Poltava. After some time, the family moved to the city of Pidhorodne in the Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro) district of Dnipropetrovsk region. In 1979, he graduated from the 8th grade of secondary school No. 4 in Pidhorodne, Dnipropetrovsk district, and in 1983, he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Mechanical and Metallurgical Technical School with a specialization in coke chemical production technology and received the qualification of "technician-technologist." From June 9 to September 1, 1982, he worked as a second-class machinist, from September 1 to November 30, 1982, as a third-class coal tower crusher in the coal preparation shop No. 2 of the Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR. From August 10 to September 20, 1983, he worked as a fifth-class coke oven operator in the coke shop of the Zhdanova Coke and Chemical Plant. He served his mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of the USSR. From October 24 to December 8, 1983, he served in the 68th Border Detachment of the Central Asian Border District (military unit 2072, the urban-type settlement of Takhta-Bazar, Mary region of the Turkmen SSR). From December 9, 1983, to May 7, 1984, he served as a cadet in the 46th Border Detachment of the Central Asian Border District (military unit 2088, the urban-type settlement of Kaakhka, Mary region of the Turkmen SSR). From May 8 to 13, 1984, he was on leave, and from May 14, 1984, to February 28, 1985, he worked as a junior controller, and from March 1, 1985, to February 13, 1986, as a sniper in the 68th Border Detachment of the Central Asian Border District (military unit 2072, the urban-type settlement of Takhta-Bazar, Mary region of the Turkmen SSR). He was discharged to the reserve on February 13, 1986. From March 4 to June 1, 1986, he worked as a lathe operator apprentice in the mechanical workshop, and from June 1 to September 27, 1986, as a second-class lathe operator at the Pidhorodne state farm. From October 21, 1986, to August 13, 1988, he worked as a third-class chemical product pourer in the sulfur purification shop of the Dnipropetrovsk Coke and Chemical Plant named after Kalinin. From September 22 to December 16, 1988, he worked as a repairman in the thermal power shop of the Dnipro Pipe Rolling Plant named after K. Liebknecht. From December 19, 1988, to March 12, 1990, he worked as a sports instructor at the Pidhorodne state farm. From May 21, 1990, to January 1, 1992, he worked as a shooter in the departmental paramilitary security of the Dnipropetrovsk Metiz Production Association. He was engaged in entrepreneurial activities. On April 2, 2014, he was mobilized by the Dnipropetrovsk District Military Commissariat of Dnipropetrovsk region into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From April 2, 2014, he served as a sniper in the 93rd Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of Kharkiv, twice awarded the Order of the Red Banner, and the Orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1302 (field post V2830), the urban-type settlement of Cherkask, Novomoskovsk district of Dnipropetrovsk region). From the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On July 21, 2014, Senior Soldier Kravchenko was killed by gunshot wounds in battle near the village of Pisky in the Yasynuvata district of Donetsk region. On July 25, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Holubivka, Novomoskovsk district of Dnipropetrovsk region. On May 6, 2016, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the city of Pidhorodne, Dnipropetrovsk district, on the facade of secondary school No. 4 (58 Partizanska Street), where Yuriy Kravchenko studied.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
