- Senior Sergeant Yuriy Tkachuk (call sign Professor) was killed on April 7, 2024, during a hostile artillery barrage near the village of Budo-Vorobyivska in the Chernihiv region. The defender was 46 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Malyi Pravutyn, Khmilnytskyi region. He graduated from the Malopravutynska School. He then enrolled at the National University of Water Management and Environmental Engineering, majoring in Agroecology and Land Management. He lived in the city of Slavuta. From 2002, he worked at the Slavuta Malt Plant, and from 2006 at the "Budfarfor" enterprise. From 2012, he worked as a laborer abroad, and later returned to Slavuta. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of military unit A4982 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. When going to war, he told his children: "Sleep peacefully, daddy will protect you." "Dad was a kind person who worked hard all his life for us and our brother, so that we would have everything he didn't have in childhood. He loved us very much. When we talked on the phone, dad often said he was afraid of leaving us orphans. He really wanted to live. It was especially difficult when he saw the battles where his comrades were dying, and he often repeated: 'But I want to live'... We miss him very much, and this wound cannot be healed... I waited for dad from work, then from the war, and now I will wait for him all my life..." Olha Tkachuk said. Yuriy was buried in his native village. He left behind his wife Halyna, daughter Olha, son Yuriy, parents, and two sisters.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
