- 24-year-old soldier Yuriy Zabara was killed on February 27, 2023 near the village of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, the soldier sustained fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. Yuriy was born in the village of Hryhorivka, Cherkasy region. He lived in the Poltava region. In 2018, he graduated from the Kremenchuk Pedagogical College named after Andrii Makarenko, obtaining the qualifications of a primary school teacher and a primary school computer science teacher. In 2020, he graduated from the Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University named after Oleksandr Dovzhenko, where he obtained the qualifications of a labor training and technology teacher, a drawing teacher, and a computer science teacher. At the same institution, he received a master's degree in vocational education, specializing in agricultural production and processing of agricultural products. He worked as a primary school teacher, teaching computer science at the Horbivskyi Educational Complex of the Hradyzka Settlement Council. He led an active lifestyle, loved to travel, swim, and play volleyball. During the full-scale invasion, in April 2022, Yuriy became a soldier of the 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the deputy commander of a group. "My husband was the brightest, kindest, and most honest person. He always supported and helped everyone, he was the bravest and most courageous, the best man and father in the world. He loved us very much with our daughter, he dreamed of seeing her grow up. He dreamed of being with her, he wanted to protect everyone. We believed until the end that this horror would end, and we would be together. My beloved said: 'Sunshine, I love you very much, we will only communicate when I call, I miss you very much, our fate is not easy. I will definitely return to you soon, kiss and hug my daughter tightly,'" the fallen warrior's wife said. "During his years of study, Yuriy proved himself to be a conscientious, disciplined, responsible student, and a decent person. In communication with his classmates, he was caring, sincere, friendly, polite, and noble. He treated those around him with respect and was always ready to help anyone who needed it. He was very bright, sincere, positive, and always smiling," noted the Kremenchuk College. Yuriy was buried in the village of Petrashivka, Poltava region.
