Anatolii V. Matvieiev

Born on August 28, 1975, in the city of Vinnytsia. Graduated from general education school No. 9 in Vinnytsia, then from Vocational School No. 5 (now Higher Artistic Vocational School No. 5) in Vinnytsia. Served mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In July 2015, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior gunner of the grenade launcher section of the grenade launcher platoon of the 43rd separate motorized infantry battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit field post V0829, city of Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region). Participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On April 19, 2016, at approximately 21:35, senior soldier Matviyiev was killed during an artillery shelling of the platoon stronghold near the urban-type settlement of Zaitseve of the Horlivka City Council (now in the Bakhmut district) of Donetsk region, when a shell hit his dugout. Along with him, junior sergeant Leonid Kozyrev and soldier Oleg Lohvynenko were killed. On April 22, 2016, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Stadnytsia, Vinnytsia district, Vinnytsia region.
