- Born on October 22, 1977, in the village of Vydvyzhenets (since 2016 - Myroliubivka) of the Novomoskovsk district of Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the general education school of the village of Vydvyzhenets. From 1995 to 1997, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After demobilization, he returned to Vydvyzhenets. He worked as a driver in his native village. In April 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a machine gunner in the mechanized platoon of the 93rd separate guards mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1302, the urban-type settlement of Cherkaské, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region). Since May 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On May 23, 2014, Senior Sergeant Derylo was on duty at a checkpoint near the village of Zoloty Kolodets in the Dobropillia district of Donetsk region on the Dobropillia - Kramatorsk road. At that time, terrorists arrived at the checkpoint in vehicles of the Ukrainian patrol service. Taking advantage of the element of surprise, the militants threw several grenades and opened heavy fire on the checkpoint. Senior Sergeant Derylo returned fire, giving his comrades time to regroup and launch a counterattack. During the battle, he sustained two injuries: a blunt simple injury to the skull and brain and a gunshot wound to the neck. Despite his injuries, he continued to fire until he lost consciousness from his wounds. After that, they attempted to finish him off with kicks, resulting in broken ribs, damaged internal organs, and all vertebrae from the shoulder blades to the base of the skull being severed. After the battle, Senior Sergeant Derylo was evacuated first to Kharkiv, then to Kyiv. He was connected to life support machines in a Kyiv hospital. On June 9, 2014, he died from his injuries. He was buried in the cemetery of the village of Myroliubivka, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
