Yurii M. Sitiaiev (Sitiai)

In 1991, he graduated from Kobelyaky Secondary School No. 2, and later from Kobelyaky Vocational Technical School. In 1995, he was drafted for compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 1996-1997, he served as part of the Ukrainian peacekeeping contingent in the territory of former Yugoslavia, holding the position of senior mechanic-driver. In April 2014, he was called up for military service by mobilization (as a volunteer). ₴Maxim Reva: "Yesterday, May 23, around 3:00 PM, a checkpoint with our guys was attacked. A tank driver was killed by a sniper's shot. Mechanic-driver Sityayev Yuriy Mykolayovych died. He was a wonderful, cheerful guy with a charming smile, able to befriend anyone. Yuriy made his village Kobelyaky famous throughout the brigade. At the end of April, he married off his daughter. Words fail, emotions overflow… The whole platoon still cannot believe that Yurko is no longer among the living. Eternal memory to the Hero!"
