- Buleha Bohdan Mykolayovych was born on January 1, 1987, in the village of Kurashivtsi, Mohyliv-Podilskyi district, Vinnytsia region. Captain of Police Bohdan Buleha dedicated 10 years to service in the internal affairs bodies — he served in a police special unit and was a mountain climber policeman in the assault platoon of the public safety police battalion. Since 2015, he served in a special police battalion. As part of the combined units, he served in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. A professional in his field, a mentor, and a loyal friend — that is how Bohdan Buleha will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues. “Kind, empathetic, strong, with a sincere smile, the best man in the world,” says his wife Oksana about Bohdan. Oksana has known Bohdan since their school years. They dated for almost 10 years and had 10 of the happiest years in marriage. With tears in her eyes, Oksana recalls how Bohdan used to say, “My Anatoliyivna, we could write a book about us.” The couple raised two sons — 10-year-old Vitaliy and 4-year-old Daniil. Bohdan was a wonderful father and was ready to do anything for his children. While at the front, he always told his wife: “You are strong, gather yourself, we have two eagles that need to be protected.” Oksana says that thanks to these words, she will be strong, no matter how hard it is for her without her husband. Bohdan's wife notes that he had a strong character, loved sports, and always confidently pursued his goals. Comrade Mykhailo Yuzhakov remembers his deputy and friend as a professional, brave, dedicated person, a reliable friend who knew how to encourage, advise, and help. Mykhailo recounted an incident when they were working with a shield: “They were firing at us, and Bohdan opened the door for us under the shield so we could get inside. When he did this, we started to respect him even more, to appreciate him. Because we were scared, but we were behind the shield, and he had to open that door from under the shield…” Bohdan loved sports very much. Due to his physical endurance and strength, his colleagues called him "Moshcha." He could go for a run and practice with a rope after a night shift and still shoot accurately. He was the best in shooting with a pistol and a carbine, engaged in crossfit and kettlebell sport, and was a multiple prize-winner in various competitions in these sports. For his conscientious approach to performing official duties, decisiveness and courage, professionalism, dedication to duty, and impeccable service to the Ukrainian people, Bohdan Buleha was awarded the "For Participation in the ATO" badge, the "10 Years of Conscientious Service" medal, and on March 31, 2022, he was posthumously awarded the title of "Captain of Police." Bohdan Buleha's life was cut short on May 22, 2022, in the Zaporizhzhia region during a missile strike by the Russians. For his courage and selfless actions demonstrated while performing official duties to ensure the protection of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity, Captain of Police Buleha Bohdan Mykolayovych was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
