- Boyko Oleksandr Vasylovych was born on August 29, 1988, in Cherkasy. In 2005, he graduated from the general education school in the village of Verhuny, Cherkasy district, and enrolled in the Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs, where he obtained higher education in the specialty of "Law". Oleksandr Boyko served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and mastered military affairs with excellence. A young, ambitious, and determined man decided that he should protect others and chose to serve in law enforcement. In June 2012, Oleksandr was appointed as a patrol service inspector. "He was always cheerful, never gave up, never lowered his hands. Even if there were problems, he never showed it," recalls family friend Viktor. From a young age, Oleksandr engaged in martial arts. He actively participated in local and regional boxing and kickboxing competitions, earning awards. He played professional football. No match of the local team took place without Oleksandr Boyko. In 2010, Oleksandr met his destiny, his beloved Hanna, whom he married. The family welcomed two children, Oleksandr and Inna. "He was the best, very reliable; you could always count on him. He was a person who would always support you. He was always honest with me and the kids. I have never met anyone who was so joyful about life. He rejoiced in every little moment and in our children's successes," recalls his wife Hanna with tears. According to his wife, they had a very friendly sports family. "For Oleksandr, training and sports were something sacred. They could not be missed or canceled even on holidays," Hanna recounts. "Even when the kids were little, we all went together to their father's training. Strong and unwavering, he cried with joy at his daughter's first successes in sports." After successfully passing the re-certification in 2015, Oleksandr was appointed as an inspector of the special police battalion of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Cherkasy region. Combat alerts, constant business trips, and missions to apprehend dangerous criminals hardened the young man. Therefore, when the need arose to defend Ukraine's territorial integrity, the special forces officer participated in the ATO in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions without hesitation. When recruitment began for the elite special police unit "KORD", Oleksandr set a goal to become one of its fighters. After several months of rigorous training and exercises, the senior lieutenant passed all tests and received the KORD special forces insignia. In the first days of the full-scale invasion by Russian occupiers, Oleksandr Boyko joined the consolidated special purpose regiment of the National Police "Safari". He went to the East to defend Ukraine. His life was cut short as a result of a missile strike by Russian troops. The senior police lieutenant was killed on May 22, 2022. The people of Cherkasy, relatives, friends, sports colleagues, and all law enforcement officers mourned Oleksandr Boyko. The hero was buried in the village of Verhuny in Cherkasy region. His final journey to his eternal resting place was lined with flowers.Memory Book of the MIA System
