Ivan V. Sova

Born on January 19, 1976, in the village of Brygadyrivka, Radivyliv district, Rivne region. In 1980, the family moved to the village of Zarichne, Radivyliv district. From 1986, he studied at the music school in the village of Kozyn, Radivyliv district, in the accordion class. In 1991, he graduated from the 8th grade of the secondary school (now an educational complex) in the village of Kozyn, Radivyliv district, and in 1995, he graduated from the Rivne Music College. From 1995 to 1996, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (in the city of Shepetivka, Khmelnytskyi region). From 1996 to 2000, he worked as a music teacher in the city of Zdolbuniv, Rivne region. Since 2000, he lived in the village of Zarichne, Radivyliv district. On August 8, 2014, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 80th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0284, city of Lviv). From August 28, 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On September 5, 2014, Junior Sergeant Sova was killed in a battle with Russian-terrorist groups near the village of Tsvitni Pisky, Slovianoserbsk district, Luhansk region. On September 9, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Brygadyrivka, Radivyliv district. In January 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Kozyn, Radivyliv district, on the facade of the educational complex building (17 Shkilna Street), where Ivan Sova studied.
