- Born on January 15, 1977, in the urban-type settlement of Kivsharivka, Kupiansk City Council, Kharkiv Oblast. Graduated from a general education school. Lived in the city of Kharkiv. Worked as a pharmacist. In the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine since December 9, 2014. Served as a driver of the 1st section of the 2nd platoon of the 3rd company of special purpose of the 2nd special purpose battalion (reserve battalion) "Donbas" of the Northern Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 3027). Participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Daddy." On January 31, 2015, reserve soldier Oleksandr Kopytsia, as part of a group, was performing a service-combat task regarding the evacuation of wounded servicemen. Near the city of Vuhledar in the Artemivsk (since 2016 - Bakhmut) district of Donetsk Oblast, the Ukrainian unit was ambushed by militants. The group was practically shot at point-blank range from enemy tanks. As a result of the shelling, reserve soldiers Oleksandr Kopytsia and Andriy Reuta were killed.
