Volodymyr V. Prokhnych (Saper)

Prokhnich Volodymyr Vasylovych was born on March 27, 1978 in Irpin, Kyiv region. He fought in the Donbas as part of the engineering and sapper company of the Aidar battalion. He participated in battles for the settlements of Khryashchuvate, Shchastia, and Troitske. In 2016, he received a mine-explosive injury and a concussion, and was wounded twice. After the injuries, he started his own business (tire service) and hired veterans. At his tire service, there was a discount for veterans, and the work was performed free of charge for the families of the fallen. He trained other military personnel in engineering and sapper affairs. On February 24, 2022, with the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he fought in his native Irpin, where he was an operator of the NLAW anti-tank grenade launcher. He participated in the battles for the city of Bucha. He was killed on September 3, 2022 in battles with Russian invaders in eastern Ukraine.
