Oleksandr V. Hlukhodid (Hor)

Born on January 10, 1986, in the city of Sumy. Graduated from 9 grades of general education school No. 13 (now named after A.S. Machulenko) in Sumy, in 2005 - Sumy Technical School (now a college) of the food industry of the National University of Food Technologies, specializing in "Service of computer systems and networks." In June 2014, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the special forces battalion (reserve battalion) "Donbas" of the Northern Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 3027). Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Hor." On August 29, 2014, during the exit from the "Ilovaisk cauldron" through the so-called "Green corridor," a white "Gazelle" vehicle, in which reserve soldier Hlukhodid was located, was moving as part of the convoy of the "Donbas" battalion from the village of Mnohopyllya towards the village of Chervonosilske in the Amvrosiivskyi district of Donetsk region. During the movement of the convoy, the "Gazelle" vehicle was fired upon with machine guns, as a result of which Oleksandr Hlukhodid received serious injuries and fell out of the vehicle. After some time, his comrades picked him up and carried him to the village of Chervonosilske, where in the evening of August 30, 2014, he died from his injuries. Since then, he was considered missing in action. On September 2, 2014, the body of Oleksandr Hlukhodid, along with the bodies of 87 other deceased in the "Ilovaisk cauldron," was delivered to the morgue of the city of Zaporizhzhia. He was temporarily buried as an unknown soldier at the Kushuhum cemetery in Zaporizhzhia. Identified by DNA testing results. On March 19, 2015, he was reburied at the Alley of Honorable Citizens of the Central Cemetery in Sumy.
