Volodymyr A. Brazhnyk

Born on July 7, 1978, in the city of Krasny Liman (since 2016 — Lyman) in the Donetsk region. Graduated from secondary school No. 4 in Krasny Liman, and in 2001 — from the accounting and finance faculty of Donetsk National University with a degree in "Finance." From 2002 to 2010, worked as an auditor at the State Tax Inspectorate in the Proletarian district of Donetsk. In 2010, he founded a company for booking and selling electronic airline tickets to corporate clients, LLC "Aerotrans" (Donetsk). In 2014, after the start of the fighting for the Donetsk international airport, the business was lost. In May 2014, with the onset of hostilities in Donetsk, he moved to Krasny Liman, where he lived in a summer house. By mid-July 2014, at his own expense, risking his life, he helped the Ukrainian military on the front lines near the cities of Krasny Liman and Sloviansk in the Donetsk region: he delivered water, food, and other necessary items, reported on the positions of militants and the mood of the local population in the occupied cities. After the liberation of his hometown from the separatist forces, he decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, trying to enlist as a volunteer through the military commissariat of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region, but he was unsuccessful. In the summer of 2014, he joined the reconnaissance company of special purpose "Crimea," which was to be formed by Temur Yuldashev at the 42nd battalion of territorial defense "Resistance Movement" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. Since August 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in Eastern Ukraine. On August 16, 2014, together with Temur Yuldashev and three other volunteers from the company that was to be formed, he arrived at the strategically important height of Savur-Mohyla (Shakhtarsk district of Donetsk region) as part of the 42nd battalion of territorial defense "Resistance Movement." He participated in the defense of Savur-Mohyla. On August 26, 2014, after the defense of Savur-Mohyla was completed, he marched with a group of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Savur-Mohyla area to the village of Mnohopyllya in the Amvrosiivskyi district of Donetsk region, where on August 28, he joined the Ukrainian troops that were in the Ilovaisk encirclement. On October 16, 2014, he was temporarily buried as an unknown soldier at the Krasnopil cemetery in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro). On May 26, 2015, he was reburied at the cemetery in the village of Torske, Lyman district, Donetsk region.
