Stepan Ya. Kutnyi (Stopa Militsioner)

Senior Sergeant Stepan Kutnyi was killed on August 24, 2022, during a missile strike on the Chaplyne railway station in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The defender was 45 years old. Stepan was born in the village of Bratkovychi, Lviv Oblast. He graduated from Sudovovyshnia Vocational Technical School No. 82. He worked as a builder. He loved music and singing, his favorite instrument was the accordion. In 2015, the man was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After some time, Stepan signed a contract. He took part in the ATO/JFO in Donbas. He had the call sign Stiopa Militsioner. At the time of the full-scale invasion, Stepan was a fighter of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. Together with his comrades, he continued to defend Ukraine from the occupiers. was killed "Dad was a very brave and honest man. A man with a big and kind heart. He always worried more about others than about himself, always helped everyone. People remembered him as a great kind soul. He never complained about anything, always said that everything would be fine, and wanted to protect us. He went to war from the beginning of the ATO, then signed a contract. He loved music, once called me and sang a famous song "Native Mother of Mine" with an accordion - this was the last song he sang to me. He felt his death. We talked 30 minutes before his death. He predicted trouble, asked to take care of myself on August 24. But he didn't save himself... God took him away," said the deceased's daughter Iryna. The warrior was buried in his native village. Stepan left behind his mother, daughter, and granddaughter.
