- Born on September 16, 1992, in the city of Sambir, Lviv region. He lived with his parents in the village of Voyutychy, Sambir district, Lviv region. He graduated from the general education school in the village of Voyutychy, Sambir district. He served in the mandatory military service and then continued his service under contract in the 80th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0284, Lviv). Since April 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He was involved in the liberation of the city of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region and the defense of the International Airport "Luhansk." On August 16, 2014, Russian-terrorist groups shelled the positions of Ukrainian military forces in the area of the village of Krasne, Krasnodon district (now Sorokynskyi district) of Luhansk region with BM-21 "Grad" multiple rocket launchers. As a result of the shelling, 10 servicemen were killed, including Junior Sergeant Dobrovolskyi. He was buried on August 21, 2014, in the cemetery of the village of Voyutychy, Sambir district. On December 17, 2014, during a session of the Sambir District Council, a decision was made to name the general education school in the village of Voyutychy, Sambir district, after Ihor Dobrovolskyi. On February 23, 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Voyutychy, Sambir district, on the facade of the general education school (Shkilna Street, 12), where Ihor Dobrovolskyi studied.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
