- Born on July 10, 1986, in the village of Ivashkiv, Kodym district, Odesa region. Graduated from the general education school (now an educational and training complex) of the village of Ivashkiv, Kodym district. Since the early 2000s, served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2008, graduated from the Lviv Red Banner Institute of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" with a degree in "Automobiles and Automotive Economy." Served in the 101st Separate Brigade of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0139, Kyiv). Participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On February 17, 2015, Captain Koval was killed by a sniper's bullet during the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the city of Debaltseve in the Donetsk region. He is buried in the cemetery of the village of Ivashkiv, Kodym district. On March 29, 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Ivashkiv, Kodym district, on the facade of the educational and training complex building (Shevchenko Street, 20), where Oleg Koval studied.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
