Serhii I. Sahan

Born on December 15, 1982, in the urban-type settlement of Emilianivka, Zhytomyr region. In 2000, he graduated from general education school No. 1 of the urban-type settlement of Emilianivka, then with honors from Vocational School No. 17 in Zhytomyr (now the Vocational School of Zhytomyr State Technological University) specializing in "electric welder of telephone station equipment." He served his mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the army, he returned to the urban-type settlement of Emilianivka. After getting married in the fall of 2013, he moved to the city of Korosten, Zhytomyr region. He worked as a carpenter in the current repair group of the Korosten garrison housing and utilities department of Zhytomyr in Korosten. On March 19, 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a machine gunner in the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, city of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region). Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He was a participant in the battles for the city of Debaltseve in Donetsk region. On February 17, 2015, Sergeant Sahan was killed during an artillery shelling near the city of Debaltseve in Donetsk region. On February 23, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the urban-type settlement of Emilianivka, Zhytomyr region.
