Anatolii V. Hrubyi

Born on October 26, 1971, in the village of Torkiv, Tulchyn district, Vinnytsia region. Graduated from the secondary school in the village of Torkiv, then attended an educational institution specializing in "veterinary medicine." Served mandatory military service in the Armed Forces. Worked as a veterinarian in an agricultural enterprise in the village of Torkiv and had a private practice in this field. In the spring of 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as a driver-operator of a compressor in the 128th Separate Mountain Infantry Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1778, city of Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region). Since 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Participant in the battles for the city of Debaltseve in Donetsk region. On February 18, 2015, Sergeant Hruby was killed by a shrapnel wound to the neck during the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the city of Debaltseve in the area of the village of Novohryhorivka in the Artemivsk (now Bakhmut) district of Donetsk region, while returning with wounded comrades. Since then, Anatoliy Hruby was considered missing in action. The soldier's body was found by the family in the morgue of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after I.I. Mechnikov. On February 23, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Torkiv, Tulchyn district, Vinnytsia region.
