- Born on December 1, 1983, in the city of Slavuta, Khmelnytskyi region. Graduated from general education school No. 1 in the city of Slavuta. Worked at the Public Joint Stock Company "Slavutskyi Combined Plant 'Budfarfor'." In 2003, he was drafted for compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 2004, he served under contract in the 24th Separate Mechanized Samaro-Ulyanivsk Berdychiv Iron Order of the October Revolution, three-time Order of the Red Banner, Orders of Suvorov and Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Brigade named after Prince Danylo Halytskyi of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0998, city of Yavoriv, Lviv region). Participant in the UN peacekeeping mission in Iraq. Since the spring of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On June 19, 2014, in the area of the urban-type settlement of Yampil and the village of Zakitne in the Krasnolymanskyi (since 2016 - Lyman) district of Donetsk region, during the execution of a combat mission, which required advancing deep into territories temporarily controlled by militants, destroying fortifications, and liberating settlements, servicemen of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade engaged in battle with Russian-terrorist groups. As a result of the battle, about 30 servicemen were injured of varying degrees of severity, and 7 servicemen were killed, including Senior Sergeant Povstiuk. On August 24, 2014, he was buried at the New City Cemetery in Slavuta. Honorary citizen of the city of Slavuta (posthumously on March 27, 2015).Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
