- Born on August 4, 1987, in the city of Uchquduq, Uzbekistan. In 1997, the family moved to the city of Donetsk. Completed 5 grades of general education school in Donetsk. In 1998, the family moved to the city of Chernihiv. In 1998-1999, studied at Chernihiv Secondary School No. 6, and from 1999 at Chernihiv Secondary School No. 35, where he completed 9 grades in 2003. Graduated from the Chernihiv Professional Construction Lyceum. Served mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After mandatory service, he served under contract in the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1126, the urban-type settlement of Hvardiyiske, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region). In 2008-2009, he participated in the UN peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. Since 2009, he studied in part-time education at the Kyiv Military Institute. Since spring 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On June 19, 2014, Senior Sergeant Koval was killed during a battle with Russian-terrorist groups in the area of the urban-type settlement of Yampil in the Krasnolymansky district (since 2016 - Lyman district) of Donetsk region. He was buried in the cemetery of the city of Donetsk. On June 19, 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the city of Chernihiv on the facade of Chernihiv Secondary School No. 35 (Independence Street, 42-A), where Maxim Koval studied. On October 13, 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the city of Chernihiv on the facade of the Chernihiv Professional Construction Lyceum (Peace Avenue, 247), dedicated to graduates who died during the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, among whom is the name of Maxim Koval.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
