- Bohdan Hryshkevych (call sign Kosmos), a combat medic, was killed on July 28, 2022, during a terrorist attack on the territory of the former penal colony No. 120 in the temporarily occupied Russian military settlement of Olenivka in the Donetsk region. Bohdan was born in Brovary, Kyiv region. In childhood, he moved with his parents to the Chernihiv region. He went to school in Nizhyn, then the family settled in Chernihiv. He obtained the qualification of a paramedic at the Nizhyn Medical College, as he dreamed of becoming a military surgeon. He worked at the Nizhyn City Hospital and was interested in military affairs. He was involved in sports, including pankration, shooting, and was a candidate for the title of sports master in judo. He collected model cars, was interested in photography and hunting. In 2014, Bohdan joined the Azov regiment, which later became part of the National Guard of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation, in particular in the Shyrokyne operation in 2015. He saved his comrades-in-arms and was repeatedly awarded by the command. In 2018, he was discharged, but two years later he returned to his comrades-in-arms. From the first days of the full-scale war, Kosmos participated in the defense of Mariupol from the Russian invaders. He was a medic in the medical unit's casualty collection and evacuation department. In March, Sergeant Bohdan Hryshkevych was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. In the spring, after fierce battles and heroic defense, the defenders were taken prisoner by the enemy. Some ended up in Olenivka. On July 28, a terrorist attack took place, as a result of which at least 50 Ukrainian servicemen were killed. "Kosmos was a combat medic, a father, a hero, a pride and an example, a courageous warrior and a true son of Ukraine. From the first days of the full-scale war, he defended Mariupol. He saved the lives of his comrades-in-arms until the very end. During the battles for Mariupol, he experienced the pain of losing two of his closest comrades-in-arms: Skar and Deizh. In July, Bohdan turned 29, and his daughter Solomiya turned 3... His deeds and his life left a mark not only in the history of Ukraine, but also in the lives of many people," said Yulia, Kosmos's beloved. Bohdan's body was handed over to his parents and cremated in Kyiv on November 13, 2022. Kosmos is survived by his parents, sisters, beloved, and daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
