- Soldier Vladyslav Volkov (call sign "Paskha) was killed on the night of July 29, 2022 in Olenivka, Donetsk region. The Russian army organized an explosion in one of the barracks where part of the Ukrainian prisoners of war were transferred. Vladyslav was 27 years old. He was born in the Zaporizhzhia region. His family then lived in the village of Blahovishchenska. The boy helped his parents from a young age. He had a talent for drawing and studied at the art school in the neighboring town of Kamyanka - he went there for classes several times a week. From the 9th grade, he played the guitar, dreaming of his own electric one. He was fond of rock music, especially Ukrainian. According to his father Oleksandr, a former serviceman, the son was a lively child, had many friends, and was always looking for justice. He adored cars. When the Maidan events began, Vladyslav was 17 - the boy went to the center of Kyiv to defend the dignity of himself and Ukrainians. Then he served for two years in the "Azov" regiment. After being released, he started a family, and later his wife gave birth to a daughter Veronika. He lived in Mariupol. In civilian life, he earned a living by making suspended ceilings. He was a master in this field. On the first day of the full-scale war, Vladyslav met his older brother Stepan in Mariupol - he was the last of his relatives to see Paskha alive. The soldier took part in the battles for Mariupol, he was in the supply platoon - it was he who, risking his life, brought ammunition and provisions to his comrades-in-arms at the positions every minute. Together with other defenders of the city, Vladyslav was taken prisoner from "Azovstal". "He was cheerful and artistic, the soul of any company," his sister Ada said. "Vlad was always curious about everything, loved to learn new things. And he never feared anything, it always surprised me. Someone is afraid of heights, someone of depths, someone of snakes and spiders, but he was not afraid of anything. An unknown lake - Vlad would definitely dive into it, high cliffs - he would climb. And so in everything," added the fighter's brother Stepan. Vladyslav was buried on December 19, 2023 at the military cemetery in Zaporizhzhia. The defender left behind his parents, brother, sister, daughter, and other relatives. Posthumously, Vladyslav Volkov was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
